Sorry about the quality of my photos lately - I'm really out of practice and will probably just delete half of them. There was a long period where my flow of ideas just stopped. I wanted to take photos so badly, but I had no idea what to actually shoot. However, I have been thinking a little about how people perceive other people (like when you fail to notice something really obvious about a person but then someone else points it out and you're like, OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT, MATT REALLY *DOES* STARE OFF INTO SPACE AND BLINK WILDLY WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT BORES HIM fun fact: i have a friend named matt who does this) and how much of a person you can actually see and how the things about you that you think are totally integral to your being are maybe something you convince yourself of because even your close friends are like "what even, you're hardly even like that". ANY.way. It gave me some ideas for really sweet portraits. Featured: forest settings, blue fingertips, watery lighting, colored smoke bombs, and probably an indulgence of my (v strong) love for perfect jawlines. I also have this idea that is SUPER COOL and involves draping people off of a lighting apparatus or two, but I'd probably have to make the lights myself and I don't have tha ca$$$h.

Also, I'm starting to go in a different direction/in a direction with my photos. I think I've been bombarded with so much "straightforward super pretty prepackaged mass appeal lollipop" stuff that I'm -actually the most bored human on the planet- and I'm just doing a bunch of weird shit because I need to purge myself or something. I'm even sick of pretty-looking girls and I want to do stuff like dye my hair lavender and wear only pastels and black lipstick but I know that in like two months I won't want to but would still be stuck looking like a visual artist. But still, I p much never want to see Rosie Huntington-Whitley or Doutzen Kroes or Adriana Lima ever again bc they're boring as fuck. I mean, they still are (probably) nice, hardworking ladies who are supa gorge, but I am really over conventionally attractive people. To be fair though, I always did err on the side of kind-of-weird-looking-but-maybe-still-cute-but-kaity-why-do-you-think-he's-so-attractive.

wow that turned into a really useless rant but like maybe someone agrees with me? do you agree? are you tired of pretty girls? can we work together in the care and cultivation of freak-grl culture? what are your other thoughts?
